Academics are looking to recruit an outstanding Science Teacher to join an amazing SEN School in the New Forest area of Hampshire.

The successful candidate will be teaching Science to young people who may have autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, ADHD and associated complex needs.

You will be joining an independent specialist day school for young people with autistic spectrum conditions (ASC) and associated complex needs. They provide education for young people aged 5 to 19 years.

This is a full-time, permanent position to start ASAP/April 2024.

Key Responsibilities:

* Teaching Science across the school
* Responsible for leading a Tutor group
* Confident and experienced in planning & delivering Science up to GCSE level.
* Develop, implement, and evaluate individualised educational programmes of study that focus on the pupil's strengths, interests, and learning goals, using a range of teaching and learning strategies.
* Work closely with other teachers/support staff team to ensure that the pupil's educational, social, and emotional needs are being met, and to maintain effective communication with the team about the pupil's progress, achievements, and concerns.

Person Specification:

* A qualified Science teacher with a passion for working with pupils with ASD needs, and experience of working with pupils with a range of additional needs and disabilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and other professionals involved in the pupil's care.
* Highly organised, with excellent planning and time-management skills, and the ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities and circumstances.
* A strong commitment to inclusive education, with a clear understanding of the importance of differentiation and meeting the individual needs of pupils.
* A commitment to continuous professional development, and a willingness to undertake training and development to enhance knowledge and skills.
