Daniel is an Associate Director at Academics and the most experienced member of the Secondary Team. He has been working in education recruitment for more than 20 years now and has a built up a strong network of client schools based on trust and performance. Before joining Academics, Daniel was a Regional Branch Manager for another National Education Recruitment Agency. As a former educator, Daniel is very proud of what Academics has been able to achieve since opening in 2003. When he is not in the office, Daniel is a keen DIY’er even though his skill set doesn’t always live up to his passion.
Douglas joined Academics in 2009 as a secondary consultant having previously work as a recruiter within the publishing sector. Since his arrival, Douglas has primarily focussed on working with secondary schools across South London, Kent and Surrey and prides himself on building long lasting business relationships. Douglas was appointed a Managing Consultant in 2017 and continues to drive his desk forward recruiting with integrity and with the full trust of his client schools. Outside of work Douglas has recently become a dad and enjoys travelling with his family as well as DJ’ing music.
Christine joined Academics in 2014 following a successful career as a Secondary History and English Teacher and Subject Co-ordinator. Originally from Toronto, Canada, Christine has made London her home since 2009 and continues to recruit teachers from Canada and the UK for her roles. Christine believes in keeping her skills up to date, which is why she has recently completed her Level 5 in Human Resources Management. As Manager of the Secondary Team at Academics, Christine also devotes a great deal of her time to the training and development of the members of team. Having personal experience on all sides of education and recruitment gives her a unique insight into the needs of both her candidates and client schools. When she’s not in the office, Christine spends her time at the gym, travelling, and at live music events.
Klaudia has been working at Academics since January 2010 when she joined our Admin Team. However she has been part of the Secondary Team as a Senior Recruitment Executive since July 2015. Klaudia joined the Secondary Team to recruit for the Home Counties but she is now recruiting for North West London as well. Klaudia has also been a valuable part of our International Team with successful placements made through the recruitment drives from Canada and Australia. Originally from Hungary, Klaudia has lived in the UK for over 10 years. Klaudia is playing for a successful handball team in the UK called Olympia Handball Club - the women's team were the first ever from the UK to participate in the European Handball Federation Cup in 2013.
Sonny recently joined the Secondary team having previously worked on the Support Team here at Academics. Having spent nearly 4 years in recruitment, Sonny prides himself on building long term and effective working relationships with schools as well as teachers and support staff. He is responsible for overseeing the full recruitment process. Sonny is extremely passionate about football and in his spare time he thoroughly enjoys going to see his favourite team whenever possible. Sonny also enjoys travelling and spending time with his family and friends.
James joined Academics in September 2014 having previously spent three years working in an Ofsted outstanding SEN school. James has been very successful in building solid long lasting relationships with schools and candidates during his time at Academics and prides himself on providing an honest and transparent service. He is responsible for the full recruitment process and specialises in the recruitment of graduate TAs and secondary school teachers. James has a passion for football, boxing, and dogs and in his spare enjoys travelling, going to the gym and socialising with family and friends.
Ben joined Academics in April 2018 as a candidate researcher – meaning that he has the pleasure of working closely with teachers and teaching assistants, helping to connect them with the best consultant for their job search. In recruitment, Ben enjoys working with the Secondary Team and creating relationships with the candidates. He learns new things every day and works very hard on their behalf – all while keeping a positive attitude. Ben really enjoys working at Academics as it is such a nice and friendly environment. In his spare time, he loves going to see his favourite football team both home and away, loves playing golf, and also likes to watch American sports such as NFL, Ice Hockey and Basketball. Ben also enjoys going to the beach and swimming in the sea while on holidays with family and friends.
Yvonne joined the team as a secondary school trainee consultant. Yvonne works extensively with various personnel in the education sector ranging from senior management to classroom teachers to teaching assistants. Yvonne resources for schools all over London and the Home Counties. Her warm and friendly approach makes it easy for her to build rapport with her candidates; this is her second role in recruitment which has also contributed to her ability to make sound relationships with her candidates. Yvonne easily sparks up conversations with others, is always smiley, and works very hard. When she’s not in the office Yvonne enjoys travelling, stand-up comedy, live music events, going to the gym, and socialising with family and friends.
Chris joined Academics in 2018 having spent 4 years teaching English in the U.K. and Japan. He liaises with both teachers and teaching assistants to place people with a school which best suits them by creating a deep and honest relationship with every candidate. Chris really enjoys working with Academics and by perfecting his technique, hopes to progress within the company. When away from work, Chris is an avid sports fan and regularly watches football, tennis and rugby. He also greatly enjoys visiting museums and travelling to new places.
