We have a background in working within education & Schools ourselves, which consists of former teachers, SENCo teaching Assistant with a background & passion for educational psychology. We feel this gives us a unique insight & understanding to help local practitioners find the right positions. It also helps us recognise & appreciate the value of continuity & quality whilst ensuring our services are still accessible solutions to local schools.

Since launching Academics Doncaster back in 2019 has gone from strength to strength with the backing of a 5* Google rating and an award winning Branch Manager. Clare is Doncaster’s experienced Branch Manager. With a whopping 14 years’ experience under her belt, Clare has developed invaluable and trusted relationships with her clients; offering bespoke recruitment solutions for schools and education pros alike. Clare offers great support and guidance which has been integral to her building such a successful branch and team of consultants over the years.

Having offered a variety of employment opportunities to South Yorkshire folk across Doncaster, Rotherham, Barnsley and Sheffield across the years, Clare is a force to be reckoned, boundlessly efficient, contentious and with a real passion and drive within education recruitment! Having previously completed an English degree which then led her down the teaching route, Clare found a spark for Education and a passion to care and help others particularly in finding the right career path for them.

Rebecca Gould Rebecca Gould Secondary Senior Recruitment Consultant

Rebecca started with the Academics Doncaster team back in March 2022. Rebecca had great successes in the local area and tirelessly helps candidates find their perfect role. Before joining the team, Rebecca moved from the North East (sunny Sunderland) to Yorkshire fresh out of University with a PGCE in Primary Education. She then spent 5 years as a Primary Teacher before taking the leap into education recruitment as the South Yorkshire Secondary Consultant. Becca supports secondary Schools across our region, specifically within the Doncaster, Rotherham, Worksop and Retford areas.

Rebecca’s passion lies in supporting her fellow teaching professionals in finding the right roles for them, acting as the bridge between great schools and great staff. Her experience and background in education ensures she’s specialised in identifying high-quality staff and matching them with the right roles as well as providing that shoulder and compassionate ear for anyone who needs her.

Outside of the office, Rebecca spends as much of her time as she can keeping active – she’s a regular visitor to the Lake District with her partner whenever she gets the chance! She also loves frequenting the gym after work and enjoys weekend walks in the countryside with a flask of coffee followed by a pub lunch – ideal!

Evie Burton Evie Burton Primary Senior Recruitment Consultant

Evie recently joined the Academics Doncaster team in March 2023 after working in education recruitment across Nottinghamshire for the last five years. Evie supports Primary schools and local educators across the Worksop, Retford and South Yorkshire region.

Over the years, Evie has developed a love for education recruitment as she thoroughly enjoys working with people and developing trusted relationships. With a BA (Hons) Degree in Education and Psychology, these skills ensure Evie can guide teaching professionals and support staff to secure the roles which are right for them and their wellbeing.

Evie has a fun-loving and bubbly personality which has truly embedded her within the Doncaster team.

Outside of the office, Evie has a family-centred life where she loves seeing her little nephews grow into wonderful, kind little humans and walking her dog Archie.

Evie is the little ray of sunshine in Team Donny! She never fails to make us cry with laughter at her renditions of Adele and ‘Smelly Cat’ but she is always there as a voice of reason and logic as well as a shoulder to lean on and a highly proficient education recruiter.

Charlotta Lovell Charlotta Lovell SEN Recruitment Consultant for South Yorkshire

Charlotta joined the Academics Doncaster team in January 2023 after working in education for 22 years, a former Primary Teacher and SENCO passionate about Education and Special Educational Needs.

Charlotta has a love for SEN and is dedicated to helping others within the education sector. Supporting schools and candidates on their journey to success, utilising her SEN knowledge and high quality expertise and experience to fully support her schools and candidates.

Charlotta has a kind and caring personality and is ALWAYS on hand to help others whenever needed.

When not in the office Charlotta enjoys spending time with her family including her lovely black Labrador Ollie who adores lots of cuddles. Charlotta also enjoys baking and sometimes the Doncaster team even get chance to sample some of these baking delights, yummy yum.

Daniel Welbourne Daniel Welbourne South Yorkshire Resourcer

Meet Our Barnsley Boy, Dan! Our beloved Dan, a true Barnsley lad, has been an integral part of the Academics Doncaster team since February 2022. Prior to joining our dynamic crew, he cut his teeth working for the Council. However, it wasn't long before Dan decided to embark on a new journey into the world of education recruitment inspired by his partner who is also a primary teacher and former education recruiter. Dan is the life and soul of the team. With his infectious humour, cheeky charm, and undeniable charisma, he brings an energy that keeps spirits high. Always ready with a joke or a witty remark, Dan's presence is a constant source of joy for everyone around him.

Dan's expertise lies in candidate resourcing, where he excels in attracting and identifying high-quality teaching and support staff to help the team support our local partner schools. Dan cares about helping open new doors and work opportunities for our Teachers and Support staff, he nurtures them through their onboarding journey with Academics Doncaster helping set them up for their first shift with the team.

Dan is a team player through and through. His "gift of the gab" isn't just a charming quality; it's a powerful tool that helps him build meaningful connections. Dan's ability to communicate effectively and understand the needs of both the team and candidate help us ensure we can maintain our 5* service.

Matthew-Reardon-Brown Matthew Reardon-Brown Secondary Consultant

Matt joined the Academics Doncaster team in June 2024 after 17 years as a PE and Psychology teacher and various management roles. He moved from education to recruitment to join the team after working on supply for us first! This gives him a unique insight from both points of view he understands the value our staff adds to our schools as well as the service we provide as consultants. Matt now works as the secondary consultant in the Sheffield Barnsley and local areas.

Matt’s experience as a classroom teacher leader and supply teacher for Academics gives him the perfect balance to understand all aspects of education recruitment. He understands how rewarding teaching is and has seen the impact of placing high quality teachers in schools and what a difference this makes to the education of young people. This is what drives him to place high calibre professionals in the right roles.

In his free time Matt enjoys playing sport and exercising. When he’s not playing cricket he’ll be out on his bike or running with his dog. He’ll spend his holidays either skiing or enjoying the quieter pace of life exploring the underwater world on scuba holidays.
