Meet the Teaching Agency in Hull
The Yorkshire and Humberside teaching agency office in Hull of Academics operates throughout Lincolnshire, Hull, East Riding & North Yorkshire. Our team work closely with both Qualified Teachers and also school support staff in Hull and the surrounding areas in order to find them suitable day to day supply, long term and permanent teaching jobs, and school support jobs, based on their own requirements. We work closely with schools, Nurseries, Colleges and referral units across the region in order to ensure that they get the best available teaching and support staff. The team take great pride and satisfaction in the relationships they have developed with both Teachers and Schools since the Hull teaching agency branch opened back in 2012. Since then, they have worked extremely hard to establish the Hull office as the schools preferred partner to help with their teaching jobs and support jobs. Their reputation continues to go from strength to strength because of the dedication they put into the work they do.
Patrick Sheppard
I joined Academics in August 2024 as Branch Manager after moving from another education recruitment firm, where I honed my Education knowledge and built on over 12 years in sales and business development, combined with more than 5 years of specialised recruitment experience.
I’m a passionate Chelsea FC supporter and when I’m not working you’ll often find me following Chelsea or coaching a grassroots football team, where I enjoy nurturing and developing sporting talent.
My greatest joy however, comes from spending time with my two sons, aged 10 and 6, who keep me busy and inspired every day. I take great pride in supporting my Secondary schools in Hull & surrounding areas with incredible teachers and support staff.
Kelly Barton
Kelly joined Academics in January 2022 as a Secondary Consultant for the Hull office. Her role within the company is recruitment for the North and North East Lincolnshire areas. Kelly works closely with secondary teachers and support staff, and is keen to hear from you if you are looking for daily supply teaching or even a long term teaching opportunity. Previously Kelly worked for 16 years as an Further Education Tutor and is passionate about education. In her spare time Kelly enjoys fitness and spending time with her family and long walks with her dog Woody.
Emily Clayton
Emily joined the Academics Hull team in August 2022.
Emily came to Academics straight from University after completing her BSc (Hons) Degree in Psychology. During her time at University she focused on wellbeing within the workplace providing her with the skills needed to ensure her teachers and support staff find their perfect role.
Emily supports Primary schools across Hull East Riding Selby and Goole with daily short term and long term supply.
In her spare time Emily can be found in the gym or doing a little bit of retail therapy. She loves spending time with her friends family and her two pet bunnies Jason and James.
Lucy Hubbard
I am a qualified Primary School Teacher and graduated with a First Class Honours Degree back in 2017. I changed my career to Education Recruitment after realising the classroom wasn’t for me.
I actually came to Academics back in 2019 and worked here as a consultant for 4 years. I worked with Primary Schools across Selby, Goole, East Riding and Hull.
In June 2023, I decided I fancied a change and trained to be a Beauty Therapist. I worked in a salon until Paddy (the best manager one could ask for) asked for me to join the team again! So here I am! I’m excited to restart my career with Academics and work with primary schools in the Hull and surrounding coastal areas.
