Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Contract: Supply basis, with the opportunity to go permanent

Start Date: Immediate Start

Location: Birmingham

SEMH Teaching Assistant required for an urgent start!

We are working with a school that have 7 campuses across Birmingham and are urgently looking for SEMH Teaching Assistants to support the students with a wide range of needs. They have places for over 400 students across these campuses, and cater for children with mental health needs. These children may also have sensory or physical needs, speech delay, and learning difficulties. All staff at this school are Team Teach trained and they have a strong pastoral team on each campus.

Your role as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:

* Support student's learning, adapting this support for the varied SEND needs.
* Help to maintain behaviour of the students, through the system set by the school
* Undertake the school routine in line iwth policies and procedures
* Promoting the safety and welfare of the students

What we need from you, as a SEMH Teaching Assistant:

* 6 months + experience of supporting children with SEND in a classroom
* Knowledge of SEN Code of Practice
* Good Standard of English and Maths
* NVQ Lvl 3 for Teaching Assistants (as a minimum) or undergraduate degree in Special Education, Psychology, Counselling, Health and Social Care etc.
