Dedicated ASC Teaching Assistant needed in Bromley!

We're seeking a compassionate and resilient ASC Teaching Assistant to provide personalized support to a child with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis in a school based in Bromley.

Position: 1:1 ASC Teaching Assistant Location: Bromley Hours: 8:30-3:30 Mon – Fri Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience

Role Overview: As a 1:1 ASC Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting a child with ASC and challenging behaviour, providing individualized guidance and encouragement to help them reach their full potential. Working closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and classroom teacher, you will create a tailored learning environment that meets the unique needs of the child.

Responsibilities:

* Provide one-on-one support and guidance to the child throughout the school day.
* Assist with academic tasks, including reading, writing, and numeracy activities, adapting materials as needed.
* Implement behavioural strategies and interventions to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the child's social and emotional development.
* Collaborate with the SENCO, classroom teacher, and other professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
* Maintain regular communication with parents and caregivers to provide updates on the child's progress and discuss strategies for support.

Requirements to work as a ASC Teaching Assistant in Bromley:

* Previous experience working with children with ASC and challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of ASC and knowledge of evidence-based strategies for supporting children with diverse needs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
* Resilience, patience, and empathy, with a genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional development of children.
* Relevant qualifications or certifications in education, SEN, or related field (desired but not essential).
