Job Title: SEN Teacher (Autism, PMLD, SLD) - Tower Hamlets
Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher with experience in Autism, PMLD, or SLD education? We are currently seeking qualified teachers to join Special Schools in Tower Hamlets, providing invaluable support and education to children with special educational needs. Primary & Secondary positions avaliable.
Position Overview: As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education tailored to meet the individual needs of students with Autism, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), or Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). Utilizing your experience and expertise, you will create engaging lesson plans, implement specialized teaching techniques, and foster a supportive learning environment conducive to the academic and personal development of each student.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to accommodate the diverse needs and abilities of students with SEN, ensuring all learners are actively engaged and making progress.
* Implement effective behavior management strategies, promoting positive behavior and emotional well-being within the classroom.
* Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and parents/carers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies tailored to each student's specific needs.
* Monitor and assess student progress regularly, using a variety of assessment tools and techniques to inform instructional planning and intervention strategies.
* Maintain accurate records of student achievement, behavior, and progress, and communicate regularly with parents/carers and other stakeholders regarding student performance and development.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
* Proven experience working within an Autism, PMLD, or SLD educational setting, with a strong understanding of the specific needs and challenges associated with these conditions.
* A genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs, coupled with a patient, compassionate, and nurturing approach.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues.
* Flexibility and adaptability, with the willingness to implement creative and innovative teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN.
* Availability to start after Easter, with trial days available for successful candidates.
