We are working with a lively all-through school, who are looking for a Play Leader, working with children in Key Stages 1 + 2. This could be an wonderful opportunity for anyone that is passionate about working with children and advancing their development through play. As the school is located in Aston Birmingham, there a large number of transport links to the school for those using public transport and on-site staff parking.

As the Appointed Play Leader you will play an essential role in creating a safe and engaging play environment for our students. We are seeking a reliable individual who is devoted to supporting children's well-being and can contribute to the overall vibrant atmosphere of this spirited and bubby school community.

Key Responsibilities:

* Setting up the resources/space, preparing play activities and so forth appropriate for the age and abilities of the children.
* Be aware of reporting procedures for safeguarding, communicating any concerns immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
* Be aware of the school’s policies and procedures on Accidents, Behaviour, Play, Health and Safety, Inclusion, Employment, Complaints etc. and to incorporate these into everyday practice.
* Provide the Play Coordinator with feedback or reports etc. as reasonably requested or as necessary.
* To attend all training and meetings as reasonably required for you to undertake your role, as agreed with the Headteacher.
* Be approachable and accessible to all pupils, ensuring that all interactions are professional and focus on the child’s needs.
* To initiate the best possible play experiences for the children. This will include playing with the children when invited and when appropriate to do so
* Play Leader may be asked to devise and deliver play activities appropriate to the age and individual needs of children and which reflect and maintain the Playwork Principles, so good knowledge of the National Curriculum and EYFS is important.

Qualifications and Skills:

* Previous experience in a child care or early education is essential.
* Understanding of Child Protection, PREVENT and Safeguarding.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to engage with children of different ages, in a positive and constructive manner.
