Job Title: Qualified SENCO

Contract: Temporary (Mon-Fri)

We are working with a SEND Secondary school in North Birmingham that is dedicated to providing exceptional education and support to students aged 11 to 19 with varied SEND needs, such as Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties and Social + Emotional Mental Health needs.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a driven and highly passionate qualified SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to join our team. The SENCO will play a vital role in ensuring that all students with special educational needs at our school receive the support and opportunities they need to achieve their full potential.

As a Qualified SENCO, your responsibilities will include:

* Identifying and assessing the SEND needs of students whilst collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies to gather information.
* Developing, implementing, and monitoring Individual Education Plans tailored for individual students, ensuring they receive appropriate support and interventions.
* Providing guidance and support to teachers, staff, and parents on effective strategies and interventions for students with special needs.
* Collaborating with external professionals such as, educational psychologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to support development.
* Offering training and professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their understanding and skills related to SEND and ASD.
* Promoting an inclusive and positive school culture where every student is valued and supported, in line with the schools ethos.

Qualifications:

* NASENCO award or relevant Qualification in SEND Needs.
* Experience working with students with the previously specified SEND needs.
* Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, policies and practices.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
