Academics Ltd is recruiting for a Science Technician for a secondary school in the Stafford area.
We are looking for an experienced Science Technician to ensure it is resourced, organised and developed. They will also be in consultation with the Science Key Stage 3&4 Leaders, to meet the performance standards required by the department.
The role is to start ASAP and may be a long term role for the right candidate. The school are also considering a permanent, term-time contract as well.
The hours of work will be 8am until 4pm.
This role provides a practical, daily technician service to members of the teaching staff in the Science Department through the preparation and provision of equipment, apparatus and chemicals to enable pupils to carry out laboratory experiments.
The successful applicant for this Technician post should already have:
- A strong knowledge of science and a genuine interest in the subject
- A qualification in any area of science
- Previous experience of working in a school laboratory for referencing purposes
- A patient approach towards working with children and adults alike
- The willingness to learn and train on the job
- Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing
- A strong work ethic, the ability to work as part of a team of technicians, and a professional attitude
The position is subject to stringent checks and the successful candidate will have to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure check and supply satisfactory references.
