Role Overview: I am seeking a dedicated and experienced KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team immediately. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting children with speech and communication difficulties, ensuring they receive the tailored assistance they need to excel academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one and small group support to KS1 students with speech and communication difficulties.
* Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of the students.
* Implement specialized strategies and interventions to support language development and communication skills.
* Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued and supported.
* Collaborate closely with the SENCO and other staff members to ensure the individual needs of students are met effectively.
* Monitor and track the progress of students, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO as needed.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working in both primary and SEN settings is essential.
* Strong understanding of speech and communication difficulties and proven ability to implement effective support strategies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
* Relevant qualifications and certifications in education or SEN support are highly desirable.
* Must be willing to undergo a DBS check and provide references.
