We are recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis within a forward thinking and friendly Primary School in Bushey.

Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Location: Bushey, Hertsmere

Salary: £85 to £95 per day

Contract Type: Contract, term-time only

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a reputable school based in Bushey. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with additional needs, ensuring their educational journey is both enjoyable and rewarding.

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant at this Primary School you will;

Provide 1:1 support to students with specific learning difficulties, ensuring their individual needs are met effectively.

Adapt teaching materials and strategies to suit the individual needs and learning styles of the student, utilising a range of engaging and creative techniques.

Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and liaise with the Class Teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to monitor progress.

Provide emotional support and encouragement to students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Collaborate with the teaching team to contribute to the planning and delivery of effective lessons, ensuring that additional needs are catered for.

Observe and record the progress and behaviour of the student, reporting any concerns or notable developments to the appropriate staff members.

Support the student during lunch and break times, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Requirements:

Previous experience working in a similar role, ideally within an educational setting.

A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification would be advantageous, although not essential.

Ability to build strong relationships with students, and provide them with confidence and reassurance.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively relay information to colleagues and parents/guardians.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to think on your feet and problem-solve.
