About The Job - Behaviour Mentor

Academics is currently seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor for an immediate start in a Brent-based school. This role involves providing 1:1 support to pupils with Special Needs and Challenging Behavior. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will have a unique opportunity to closely collaborate with young individuals dealing with mental health challenges, challenging behavior, and learning disabilities such as Autism.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work 1:1 with pupils, providing support for Special Needs and Challenging Behavior.
* Engage with young people dealing with mental health difficulties, challenging behavior, and learning disabilities.
* Act as a positive role model, fostering academic potential while offering social and emotional support.

Ideal Candidate Qualities:

* Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly challenging behavior (SEMH/PRU experience is a plus).
* Recent graduates and candidates with experience in SEN and the care industry are encouraged to apply.
* Possess a can-do attitude and a willingness to contribute in various aspects of the classroom.
* Ability to use initiative and thrive under pressure.
* Effective communication skills with both children and staff members.

Requirements:

* Enhanced DBS check or willingness to apply for one.
* Ability to provide 2 recent references.
* Good knowledge of the national curriculum.
* Positive attitude towards education.
* Strong communication skills.
