Academics are recruiting on behalf of a large SEN Secondary SEN School in Basingstoke who have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Principal to join their leadership team in April 2024 - Leadership 10-14 / Salary from £58,957 to £65,009 per year

The school currently caters for the needs to students aged 11-16 years with moderate learning difficulties or specific learning difficulties; however, an increasing proportion have a diagnosis of severe learning difficulties or Autism. As a result, they are currently on an exciting journey of curriculum development to ensure that their ‘outstanding’ setting continues to meet the needs of future cohorts, to an exceptionally high standard.

In support of this, they are seeking an experienced Senior Leader / Assistant Principal from within the specialist SEN sector who will bring expertise in developing a high quality curriculum and continuous improvement in the quality of education for their pupils with a broad range of special educational needs.

The successful Assistant Principal will be an experienced leader with the desire to make a difference. You will work within the Senior Leadership Team to ensure the learning and development of pupils and safe working practises of all staff.

Essential qualifications and evidence to apply for the role of Assistant Principal in Basingstoke:

* Qualified Teacher Status
* Evidence of outstanding leadership and management experience
* Substantial, recent and successful experience of teaching pupils with complex learning needs and autism, judged consistently as outstanding
* Show a proven commitment to providing outstanding learning and teaching for all
* Demonstrate a successful track record of securing good to outstanding teaching across a department or school

Desirable qualifications include:

* Qualification in Special Education
* Leadership Qualification eg NPQSL, NPQML
* An interest in gaining the NPQH
* Qualification in relation to meeting the needs of pupils with autism
* An understanding of the role of National Teaching Schools
