The School: Learning Support Assistant – Bank Staff – Supply

The school is based near Redhill, Surrey and provides support for secondary aged pupils who have a wide range of moderate learning and behavioural needs. All students that attend the school have a designated Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) which details their specific needs in terms of the care and support they will have access to.

The school is graded as ‘good’ by Ofsted with pupil progress and achievement ‘outstanding’ across the school. You will be joining a school environment that is made up of happy students and staff.

Summary: Learning Support Assistant – Bank Staff – Supply

***The school are looking for someone with:

* A flexible working approach
* Availability for part time, ad hoc work
* An interest in working with special needs

***Specialist secondary school for students with a range of moderate learning needs such as autism, down’s syndrome, speech and language challenges and social, emotional needs

***Classes range from 6-8 in size with a focus on implementing effective communication techniques

***Therapy rooms and designated areas for specialist support from a range of therapists including SALTs, Occupational therapists, psychologists and counsellors

***An Integrated Trauma Informed Approach and extensive 1-1 support for every pupil

***Specialist communication methods such as Makaton and PECS

***Focus on preparation for GSCE subjects and building a curriculum that works for their individual needs

***The school likes to focus on LSAs who know their objectives and who would like to continue their journey to become a speech and language therapist

***A psychology degree or specialist SEN training is highly desirable

***ASAP starts – £80 - 90 per day
