A fantastic Mental Health School in Newbury is looking for a Child Mental Health Worker to help support their students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs in the classroom. The pupils aged 5 to 18 all have a range of difficulties, including anxiety, bereavement, trauma, mental health challenges and behavioural difficulties. The children therefore require a Child Mental Health Worker who can identify and cater to their needs, and provide them with the support they so desperately need.

You will be instrumental in providing consistency and equipping the children and young people with the tools to ensure they feel safe, secure, empowered and believe that they will succeed in life. You will also help support them through their education, encouraging them to learn and enjoy school.

This Child Mental Health Worker role is perfect for Psychology, Criminology or Sociology Graduates who are looking to gain experience in the mental health field. You will build practical experience supporting young people with significant needs and learn how to communicate with and support them, through the help of trained professionals. You will also gain an understanding of additional needs, cognition and development.

The ideal Child Mental Health Worker will have a passion for helping children and young people reach their full potential both inside and outside the classroom. Previous experience working with children would be beneficial, as well as a relevant degree in Psychology, Criminology or Counselling. The role is Monday to Friday, 8:30am until 3:30pm. Before starting in the school, you will need to undergo a DBS check.
