Teaching Assistant Position Available in Kingston upon Thames

Position Overview: They are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to work within their school. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing one-on-one support to students with PMLD, ensuring they receive the care and assistance they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Personal care will be an essential aspect of this role, as you will be responsible for assisting students with daily tasks such as feeding, toileting, and mobility.

Key Responsibilities:

* Providing individualised support to students with PMLD, both in the classroom and during extracurricular activities.
* Assisting with personal care tasks, including feeding, toileting, and maintaining personal hygiene.
* Collaborating with teachers and therapists to implement personalised learning plans and support strategies.
* Promoting independence and self-confidence among students by encouraging their participation in classroom activities and social interactions.
* Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.

Requirements:

* Previous experience working with individuals with PMLD or similar disabilities is preferred but not essential.
* A compassionate and patient demeanour, with a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of students.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.
* Willingness to undergo training in manual handling, first aid, and other relevant areas.
* A commitment to upholding the highest standards of care and professionalism at all times.
