Behaviour Support

A warm and friendly school in Bracknell are on the hunt for a Behaviour Support Assistant to come in and create a fun and engaging learning environment for their students.

This is an environment where you will really make a difference and touch the lives of vulnerable children. If you are looking for a rewarding role, then apply now!

The children that attend this school struggle with their mental health and anxiety and this can impact their education and behaviour. Not only do they struggle with coping with their emotions and mental health needs, they still need to get through the school day and ensure that they are meeting their goals. This is where your role as behaviour support assistant comes in.

You will support them with all their needs in the classroom and model healthy ways for them to cope with their emotions. While you will be supporting the children, you will have the support of the class teacher yourself!

Your day to day as a Behaviour Support Assistant:

* Providing support and assistance in 1 to 1 or in small group settings.
* You will take part in providing specific teaching techniques
* Reinforce any therapeutic techniques that the teacher has put in place to support the children
* Assist the class teacher with general classroom duties such as managing general behaviour and preparing for lesson time

If you are looking for a supportive environment where you can flourish while also making a difference in the community, then this is the role for you! Those who have a degree in psychology or criminology will greatly benefit from this role and the experience it offers. Those with similar degrees are also encouraged to apply. If you don’t have a degree, but are still looking to make a difference, we want to hear from you! Patience and a great attitude are important!

Qualities you need to be successful in your role as Behaviour Support Assistant:

* Calm, compassionate and kind
* Patient and determined to make a difference
* Take initiative well and able to deal with challenging behaviours
* Able to create a safe and engaging environment where students can flourish and thrive
* Understand how important safeguarding is
* Hold an enhanced DBS check – if you do not have a DBS certificate, don’t worry, we can support your application
