Academics Agency is seeking a dedicated Engagement Officer to work within a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) Secondary Setting. Position: Engagement Officer, Location: PRU Secondary Setting/Chesterfield
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent, Salary: Competitive, based on experience, Start Date: Immediate

Key Responsibilities:

* Build positive relationships with students, providing support and guidance to enhance their engagement with learning.
* Develop and implement strategies to address behavioural challenges and support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
* Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
* Monitor student progress and provide feedback to inform personalized interventions and support plans.
* Organize and facilitate enrichment activities and extracurricular programs to promote social, emotional, and academic development.
* Act as a liaison between students, families, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for student well-being.

Requirements:

* Experience working with young people in a similar setting, ideally within a PRU or alternative provision environment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with students from diverse backgrounds.
* A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting students with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
* Knowledge of relevant safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children and young people.
* Flexibility, resilience, and a positive attitude towards working in a dynamic and sometimes unpredictable environment.
* Relevant qualifications or training in youth work, social work, education, or a related field would be advantageous.
