Special Educational Needs (SEN) Administrator

Overview:

We are in search of an exceptionally organized and meticulous SEN Administrator to join our team at a Secondary School in Watford. As the SEN Administrator, you will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth running of administrative tasks within the Special Educational Needs (SEN) department, providing crucial support to students with special educational requirements.

Responsibilities:

* Work closely with the SEN department to maintain accurate records of students with special educational needs, including Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and associated paperwork.
* Assist in coordinating and facilitating SEN assessments, ensuring students receive the necessary support throughout the process.
* Aid the SEN team in arranging meetings, workshops, and training sessions, ensuring all relevant parties are engaged.
* Effectively communicate with parents, teachers, and external agencies regarding the progress and needs of SEN students.
* Contribute to the preparation and dissemination of reports, documents, and resources related to SEN provision.
* Uphold confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations when handling sensitive student information.
* Collaborate with other school staff to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting SEN students.
* Keep abreast of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in the field of special educational needs, applying this knowledge to support the SEN department effectively.

Requirements:

* Previous administrative experience in an educational setting, preferably within a SEN department.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders.
* Proficient in using computer systems and software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
* Familiarity with relevant legislation and policies concerning special educational needs is advantageous.
* Demonstrated sensitivity and empathy towards students with special educational needs, committed to fostering inclusivity and equality.
* Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
