Position: Spanish Subject Lead

As a Spanish Subject Lead, you will play a pivotal role in establishing outstanding provision within the Spanish department, shaping the future of teaching and learning at our academy.

Key Responsibilities:

Establish outstanding provision within the Spanish subject area, aligning with the schools vision and values.

Be accountable for student progress and development across KS3, KS4, and Sixth form, setting and meeting student achievement targets in collaboration with the Principal and Governing Body.

Ensure high standards of teaching and learning through continuous development and enhancement of teaching quality.

Provide an engaging, relevant, and differentiated curriculum for students, in line with academy aims and policies.

Implement and apply all school policies and procedures consistently within the subject area.

Effectively manage teaching/support staff, financial, and physical resources within the subject area, working alongside the MLG/ALG.

Lead literacy development within subject areas to raise standards of literacy across the academy.

Qualifications & Experience:

Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree, with further qualifications and evidence of continuous self-development.

Minimum of three years' teaching experience, including KS5 and in multi-ethnic urban schools.

Understanding of effective teaching and learning theory and practice.

Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3, KS4, and KS5.

Proven success in raising achievement as a subject leader or classroom practitioner.

Experience in monitoring, evaluation, and review processes to improve teaching and learning.

Proficiency in ICT and experience with new technologies to raise achievement.

Recent involvement in innovative curriculum development and strategies for improving teaching and learning.
