Are you experienced in supporting children with visual impairments? A specialist school in Slough is seeking a dedicated Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant (Visual Impairment) to support blind and partially sighted students in their learning and development.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nurturing school that provides a tailored education for children with visual impairments and additional learning needs. As a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers, mobility specialists, and therapists to create an accessible and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with visual impairments, adapting learning materials as required.
* Assist with mobility and orientation, helping students navigate their environment safely and independently.
* Use specialist resources such as Braille, tactile diagrams, and assistive technologies.
* Support students in developing confidence, communication skills, and life skills.
* Work closely with teachers and therapists to implement personalised education plans.

Who We’re Looking For:

No prior experience is required, as full training will be provided. However, this role would be ideal for someone with experience working with children with visual impairments, SEN, or care-based support. Familiarity with Braille, assistive technologies, or mobility training would be a plus but is not essential.
