Aspiring Youth Worker

This role is ideal if you have experience in SEN, a psychology, crimimology or sociology degree and, have career aspirations to become a Youth Worker.

Are you dedicated to supporting children who have come from hardship?

Are you keen to gain experience with children who have SEN?

We are looking for a dedicated Aspiring Youth Worker to supporting children with moderate learning difficulties and, additional mental health needs. This school is based in Worthing for children aged 6-16 and, has speciailised in SEMH to provide exceptional education and support for traumatised children and young people.

You will be helping children who have come from trauma/neglected backgrounds, challenging behaviour, ADHD or Autism and also have developed mental health issues due to their needs and require additional support with improving social, emotional and mental well-being.

Responsibilities of an Aspiring Youth Worker:

* Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students.
* Behaviour and pastoral support.
* Take an active role in forward planning with therapists.
* Practical approach to meet the individual needs of students.
* Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students.
* Ensure safeguarding of students, in line with procedures.
* Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD.

Requirements of an Aspiring Youth Worker:

* Proactive approach.
* Impose patience and, understanding.
* Have an understanding with challenging behaviour.
* Always be adaptable in any give situation.
* To be able to develop trusting and positive relationships with students.
