SEN Teaching Assistant – Newbury | ASAP

Are you passionate about supporting young children in their early education journey? Do you want to help primary school pupils grow in confidence, develop key skills, and feel empowered in their learning? If you’re enthusiastic, patient, and ready for a rewarding challenge, this role could be perfect for you.

* Location: Newbury, West Berkshire
* SEN Teaching Assistant
* Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 15:30
* Salary: £83.50 – £90 per day
* Start Date: ASAP
* Permanent: Full time, term time only

A welcoming and supportive Primary School in Newbury is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time, Monday to Friday, starting ASAP. You’ll work closely with the Newbury class teacher, providing tailored academic and emotional support to children with additional needs, helping them build confidence and independence.

No two days are the same. As a SEN Teaching Assistant you’ll be supporting primary-aged pupils with a variety of needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning challenges. Adaptability is key, as you’ll adjust your approach to meet each Newbury child’s unique requirements. The Newbury school places a strong emphasis on interactive, play-based learning, so expect to get involved in creative activities, outdoor play, sensory experiences, and hands-on lessons to make learning fun and engaging.

What We’re Looking For:

* Passion over experience – Previous experience with SEN children or adults is a bonus (whether professional or personal), but what truly matters is your enthusiasm, patience, and a positive attitude.
* A team player – You’ll collaborate with teachers, SEN specialists, and support staff to create the best learning environment for the pupils.
* A nurturing approach – Helping children build confidence and enjoy learning is at the heart of this role.

If the SEN Teaching Assistant sounds like the perfect opportunity for you, apply today with your CV.
