A fantastic opportunity has recently become available for a SEND Teaching Assistant in a primary school in Halifax. The school are looking for someone to start as soon as possible to work with pupils with Autism in a Year 1 class.
The role as a SEND TA:
* To support students who struggle with their class work
* Facilitate a fun and friendly learning environment
* To provide support to the class teacher
* To encourage children to do their best
* Help manage behaviour
* Build good realtionships with the children in your care
The successful SEND TA will:
* Be calm and compassionate. Personality is everything!
* Be able to take initiative well and problem solve
* Have some experience working with children - desirable but not essential
* Be patient. Some students struggle with additional learning needs and need someone supportive to help them get through the school day
* Understand the importance of safeguarding in schools
* Must have an enhanced DBS Check or be willing to apply for one
