Academics Ltd is working alongside outstanding SEN schools in the Luton area to find a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant. In this role, you’ll support children and young people with a range of educational and social needs, helping them thrive in an environment focused on personalised care, high-quality teaching, and specialist support. You’ll work closely with a team of experienced professionals to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and other special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with experienced SEN staff to provide support for students with SEMH and other needs.
* Assist with students’ academic development, encouraging them to reach their full potential.
* Offer support with personal care when needed.
* Build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents to create a supportive environment.
* Adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of each student, using initiative to support their learning and development.

What We’re Looking For:

* Previous experience supporting individuals with special needs (children, young people, or adults) is an advantage, but not essential.
* A caring, enthusiastic individual passionate about helping students with SEN.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
* A positive, empathetic attitude with the flexibility to adapt your teaching style to suit each student’s needs.
* A willingness to support personal care needs when necessary.
* Essential Requirements:
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* A Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (Level 2 or above) or equivalent experience.
