Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Gravesend
Location: Gravesend, Kent
Contract Type: Full-Time, temporary to permanent
Day rate: £100 - £110
Role Overview:
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will play a crucial role in supporting the teaching staff and enhancing the learning experience of stutents. You will work closely with teachers to plan and deliver high-quality learning activities, provide targeted support to students, and contribute to the overall development of the school community in heart of Gravesend.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons, ensuring a high standard of education.
* Support individual and small groups of students with their learning needs, both inside and outside the classroom.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.
* Manage classroom behavior effectively and create a positive learning environment.
* Collaborate with teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support students with additional needs.
* Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of school policies and practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
* HLTA qualification or equivalent experience is essential.
* Previous experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar educational role is preferred.
* Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
