Deputy Behaviour Lead Manager - Basingstoke
42.5 hours per week/working 39 weeks per annum

Academics are recruiting on behalf of an Alternative Provision in Basingstoke who have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Behaviour Lead Manager to join their successful behaviour team.

As a Deputy Behaviour Lead Manager, you will play an active role in developing the behaviour of students and the behaviour management quality of staff by planning, implementing and evaluating interventions.

You will have responsibility for communicating behavioural information including the extent of any interventions that have been delivered to staff, pupils, family members, carers, members of staff in relation to any personal, psycho-social issues that may impact on their behaviour. Interventions may include a pupil that is highly emotional, sometimes antagonistic which require a satisfactory outcome. This will involve using a variety of approaches focusing on the best outcome of the individual.

Other responsibilities include:

* To provide care, support, guidance, discipline and encouragement to the students in their care.
* To provide intervention and bespoke learning for their most at risk students
* Taking responsibility for ensuring accurate completion of all electronic data recording e.g CPOMS and and CBucks
* To organise and lead post incident reviews following significant incidents within the Alternative Provision.
* To ensure all detentions, physical/serious incidents and fixed term and internal exclusions are recorded on CPOMS. In addition ensure all associated protocols, 2 communications and recordings are made for each of these sanctions.
* Produce reports and feedback to the governing body.
* Oversee performance management of all staff in the behaviour team.
* Ensure behaviour is proactively managed on a day to day basis in response to school and student needs
* Be responsible for staff deployment challenges including 1:1 mentoring and support, small group and whole class support, “behaviour buddy” function alongside teacher colleagues, walkabout support and sickness cover.
* To attain GSA Tutor Status and plan and deliver General Services training for all new staff

The successful Deputy Behaviour Lead Manager must have an insight and understanding into the theoretical and practical knowledge of a range of behavioural interventions, procedures and practices relevant to the specialist area e.g. positive & negative reinforcement, have knowledge of Child protection and safeguarding procedures and possess a calm but positive and caring attitude towards pupils
