SEN Teacher – September 2025 Start - Education and Training

A welcoming and inclusive SEN school in Colchester is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join their team from September 2025. This is a permanent, full-time role ideal for either experienced SEN teachers or qualified teachers with a passion for inclusive education who are looking to transition into a specialist setting.

The school offers a supportive and collaborative environment, with small class sizes, high staff-to-pupil ratios, and a leadership team committed to professional development and staff wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan and deliver high-quality, individualised lessons tailored to pupils with a range of special educational needs
* Foster a structured, nurturing classroom environment that promotes engagement and independence
* Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and wider support teams to meet pupils’ educational and developmental needs
* Track and assess progress against EHCP targets and individual learning plans
* Build positive relationships with families and external agencies to support holistic outcomes
* Contribute to whole-school initiatives and uphold the school’s inclusive ethos

Candidate Requirements:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – strong SEN experience will also be considered for unqualified teachers
* Experience supporting pupils with complex needs in an SEN or inclusive setting
* Ability to adapt teaching strategies to suit a range of learning needs
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented approach
* Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
