Full time Role

Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) play a vital role in schools, bridging the gap between teaching and strategic support. This position involves assisting teachers with lesson planning and delivery while providing key support across multiple classes to ensure they are well resourced, compliant, and running efficiently.

Role Overview

* Support teachers in delivering a tailored curriculum.
* Collaborate with teaching staff to assist in lesson planning and resource management.
* Supervise whole classes during teachers' short-term absences (maximum of eight learners per class).
* Work alongside the leadership team to help achieve the desired outcomes for learners.
* Assist in implementing policies and processes to maintain a secure learning environment.

Requirements

* Experience working with SEN students, including those with complex learning difficulties.
* Proven ability to manage and support students with challenging behaviours.
* A teaching qualification or HLTA certification is strongly preferred.
* Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and experience considered.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain reports and collaborate effectively with parents, carers, and professionals.
* Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Experience in organising and leading group or individual activities.
* Knowledge of communication strategies for non-verbal learners.
