Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo)

A Post-16 educational provision is urgently seeking an experienced and certified SENCo to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take the lead in shaping the educational support for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a creative, inclusive, and forward-thinking environment. This is a full-time position, with the possibility of becoming permanent. The college is based in central Birmingham and they are excited to welcome a skilled and passionate SENCo to their team!

As the SENCo, your responsibilities will include:

* Overseeing and enhancing the SEND provision to ensure the needs of all students are effectively met.
* Leading the development, implementation, and review of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring full compliance with statutory regulations.
* Providing guidance and training to staff on inclusive practices and differentiated teaching strategies.
* Monitoring the progress and outcomes of SEND learners, implementing targeted interventions when necessary.
* Building strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to create a supportive network for students.
* Developing innovative strategies to increase student enrolment by demonstrating commitment to excellence in SEND education.
* Staying informed on current SEND policies, frameworks, and best practices to ensure the institution remains compliant and progressive.

Requirements:

* Must hold a recognised SENCo qualification.
* Proven knowledge and experience in the SEND sector, including policies, frameworks, and statutory obligations.
* A track record of driving measurable improvements in SEND learner outcomes.
* Strong leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
* A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving and strategy development.
* Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
