We’re working with a fantastic primary school in Edmonton, North London, to find a compassionate and resilient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Role: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (SEMH Support)

What you’ll do:

* Build a trusted, supportive relationship with a child who needs help managing emotions and behaviour.
* Use creative strategies—structured play, calming techniques, and positive communication—to help them express themselves.
* Support their learning in literacy, numeracy, and beyond, adapting as they grow.
* Work closely with teachers and the SEN team to create the right approach—because every small win matters.
* Be the consistent, reassuring presence that helps them feel safe and ready to learn.

Is this you?

* You’ve got resilience in spades—working with SEMH can be tough, but you don’t give up easily.
* You’re patient, empathetic, and calm, even when things feel challenging.
* You might have experience with SEN or SEMH (great if you do, but if you’ve got the right attitude, we still want to hear from you!).
* Most importantly, you truly care—you want to help this child believe in themselves.
