Academics is working with a number of excellent secondary schools across Plymouth and surrounding areas who are seeking confident, adaptable individuals to help cover classes across various subjects. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain school-based experience without needing a formal teaching qualification – ideal for graduates or those with classroom experience.
About the Role:
* Supervise pre-set lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher
* No planning or marking required – just keep pupils on task
* Build positive relationships and manage behaviour effectively
* Cover a range of subjects across KS3 to KS5
Requirements:
* A degree or previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
* Strong classroom presence and confidence in managing behaviour
* A proactive, flexible approach
