A welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Upminster is seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time position starting either immediately or from September 2025, offering a rewarding opportunity to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and make a genuine difference in their educational journey.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and the SEN team to provide targeted support to pupils, either within the classroom or in a dedicated resourced provision. Your work will help to create an accessible and supportive learning environment that enables every student to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN needs

Assist in the development and delivery of individual education plans (IEPs)

Support pupils in both academic and social aspects of school life

Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff to promote inclusion

Help to manage classroom behaviour and encourage student engagement

The ideal candidate will:

Have experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, particularly in a secondary school setting

Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people

Understand the challenges faced by pupils with SEN and know how to provide effective support

Be proactive, flexible, and a strong team player
