Salary: £85 - £100 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:45pm
Are you passionate about making a real difference in education and training? We are currently seeking a Challenging Behaviour Assistant to join a supportive and vibrant secondary school in Barking and Dagenham, working with students aged 11–16 who present with challenging behaviour.
About the Role:
As a Challenging Behaviour Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting pupils aged 11–16 who need help regulating their emotions and behaviour to stay focused on their education and training. You will work in a dedicated school in Barking and Dagenham, supporting students both in the classroom and in one-to-one settings.
Responsibilities:
Support students aged 11–16 in a secondary school setting.
Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals to implement behaviour strategies.
Promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour and confidence.
Help build student confidence, resilience, and self-esteem.
Be a consistent and calming influence throughout the school day.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a school, youth work, or care setting is desirable.
A genuine passion for education.
Strong communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
Ability to commute to Barking and Dagenham daily.
