Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Start Date: Immediate or September Start
Salary: £85 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only

About the Role - Learning Support Assistant
As a Learning Support Assistant in Newham, you’ll be working closely with children who have a range of special needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social/emotional needs. You'll provide one-to-one and group support, helping them access the curriculum and develop vital life skills through tailored support and structured education and training.

Responsibilities:
Support pupils aged 5–16 with special educational needs in a dedicated school in Newham

Assist teachers in delivering inclusive lessons tailored to individual learning styles

Encourage independence, confidence, and progress through effective support

Promote a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment

Receive professional education and training and guidance from experienced staff

Requirements:
Passion for working with children with special needs

Previous experience in a school or care setting is desirable but not essential

Patience, empathy, and a willingness to learn

Right to work in the UK and a DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Daily availability to commute to Newham
