Salary: £85 - £100 per day
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only
Are you a confident and compassionate individual looking to support young people in education? A welcoming SEN secondary school in Havering is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Mentor to work with students aged 11–16 who need additional guidance with their behaviour and emotional regulation.
As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who face behavioural challenges, helping them re-engage with learning in a structured and supportive environment. You’ll play a vital role in improving behaviour, attendance, and overall engagement, while gaining valuable experience in education and training.
Your Role - Behaviour Support Mentor
Support secondary-aged pupils in a mainstream or alternative provision setting in Havering
Build strong relationships with students and act as a positive role model
Deliver tailored behaviour strategies and mentoring plans
Work 1:1 and in small groups to help pupils overcome barriers to learning
Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
Requirements:
Passion for working with young people with behavioural needs
Experience in a school, youth work, or mentoring setting is ideal
Strong communication, resilience, and empathy
Commitment to ongoing education and training
Willingness to commute to and work in Havering daily
