Teaching Assistant - Wheatley
We are working with a lovely school who are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to join them ASAP on a full-time basis in fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment for their students. This school works with children and young people aged 2-19 and firmly believe that their students deserve the opportunity to thrive both academically and emotionally. As a Teaching Assistant, you would work closely with teachers and other educational professionals to ensure these students have the brightest future possible.
Key information for a Teaching Assistant:
* Start Date: ASAP
* Hours: Full-time, 08:30–15:00 (Term-time only)
* Pay: £85–£100 per day (dependent on experience)
* Location: Wheatley
A Teaching Assistants day:
* To support students who struggle with their class work
* Facilitate a fun and friendly learning environment
* To provide support to the class teacher
* To help the class teacher prepare lesson materials and classroom boards
* To keep the classroom a tidy and presentable environment
* To encourage children to do their best
* Help manage classroom behaviour
* Listen to the children read and practice their phonics
A Teaching Assistant role is perfect for someone who:
* Has strong communication skills – is clear and effective at explaining concepts and information
* Is patient – has a clam and supportive manner, particularly for children who struggle with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) issues.
* Is a team-player - Collaborates well with teachers and other staff members.
* Can easily adapt - Flexible in responding to different classroom situations and student needs.
* Has a Grade C/Level 4 qualification in Maths and English
* Has previous Teaching Assistant experience – Preferred but not essential
