Job Advert: Cover Supervisor –
Are you a confident and adaptable individual with classroom experience? We are looking to appoint a reliable and proactive Cover Supervisor to work across a group of secondary schools in Havering, supporting with daily, short-term, and long-term cover assignments.
As a Cover Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be to manage the classroom in the absence of the teacher, delivering pre-set work and ensuring a calm and focused learning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain further experience in education before moving into teacher training or for overseas-trained teachers seeking UK school exposure.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise whole classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 during teacher absences.

Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure that students remain on task.

Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
*
Report back to relevant staff regarding student progress or issues.
*
Support with general duties across the school when not covering lessons.
What we're looking for:

A Cover Supervisor with a degree and at least 1 year of teaching experience (UK or overseas).
*
Strong classroom management skills and confidence to lead lessons independently.
*
Knowledge of the UK curriculum is desirable but not essential.
*
A flexible and positive attitude, with the ability to adapt to different school environments.
